Texas woman killed in fatal hit-and-run auto accident
A tragic hit-and-run accident left one woman dead on a Texas highway recently. The fatal car accident, which took place around 1 a.m., was apparently caused by a drunk driver who has since been charged with leaving the scene of the accident.
The victim was killed when the vehicle she was in was apparently rear-ended by the alleged drunk driver, who was traveling at a high rate of speed. The three other passengers in the victim’s car, including two of her grandchildren, were treated for injuries and released from the hospital.
Those who get behind the wheel while drunk put people’s lives at risk and should be held responsible for their actions. Following an auto accident, it is important that all parties remain at the scene until authorities arrive, and failing to do so is not only considered thoughtless but it is also a violation of the law.
The driver who allegedly caused this fatal car accident left the scene of the accident and went to a Texas hospital to possibly seek treatment for a broken arm. He was then arrested and charged with multiple criminal counts including intoxication manslaughter. This tragic hit-and-run drunk driving accident has left one family heartbroken.
In situations where a family loses a loved one it can be especially difficult to cope in the aftermath of a car accident. Understanding your legal rights in these situations can feel like a daunting task. If you are the victim of an auto accident involving a drunk driver or a hit-and-run situation, an attorney may be able to assist you while you deal with the emotional and financial challenges of picking up the pieces.
