Fatal trucking accident subject to specific industry regulation

The transportation and delivery of materials and goods over our national highways by 18-wheelers and tractor-trailers is an economic necessity. Because of their size and their contribution to our economy, it is unlikely that their use of our highways will become any less frequent, and the inherent dangers that they pose to other motorists will likely not diminish.

A large state like Texas, with many populous cities separated by open land, requires trucks so businesses can operate. Due to supply and demand, the drivers of these large trucks are rushing to meet deadlines and grab another load. The urge to sacrifice safety in order to arrive on time is a temptation that affects many truck drivers. These pressures can lead to a fatal truck accident.

Due to their size, truck accidents can often cause much more damage and more serious injuries than those involving other smaller vehicles.

The trucking industry is highly regulated but that does not mean that every trucking company complies with those laws and, of course, accidents can happen even when every law is observed.

Just as trucking accidents often create issues that are not common in accidents involving other vehicles and are regulated differently than other types of transportation, the law regarding trucking accidents also has nuances that require knowledge of these specific laws.

A person who has been injured in a trucking accident could lose out on much needed compensation if the attorney they have chosen to handle the case is unfamiliar with the intricacies of the law surrounding trucking accidents.

The attorneys at Leonard B. Gabbay, P.C. Law Firm are experienced in assisting those who have been injured in a truck accident. They understand the concerns you may have, as well as the nuances of the law in this area.
