Austin students recovering from injuries caused by drunk driver

Last June, four Austin high school seniors were stopped at a red light when they found themselves in the path of a drunk driver who would change their lives. The other car was reportedly traveling at 70 miles an hour when it crashed into their vehicle, causing a car wreck that left all four girls with critical injuries. The car the girls were in was so badly crumpled that they had to be pulled out through the back window.

The alleged drunk driver has been charged with aggravated assault and intoxication assault. His blood alcohol level at the time of the car accident was claimed to be three times the limit. He is awaiting trial for the pain and suffering he caused.

The ordeal for the girls in the car that he hit has been ongoing, as they struggle to recover from catastrophic injuries suffered in the car crash.  Instead of attending college this fall, one of the girls is undergoing therapy to help her regain her ability to walk, after her pelvis was severely fractured in the car accident.  Another is learning to read, after suffering a severe skull fracture that led to a coma and almost cost her life. Only one of the girls in the car has been able to continue with her education as planned.

For Austin residents whose lives have been irreparably altered by the actions of a reckless driver, an experienced lawyer may be their best ally in the fight to recover damages to pay for medical expenses and rebuild their lives.
